Richard and Bette Faith, residents of Rocky Ford, CO, have been married for over twenty-six years. Through sickness and good health they have been there to support one another. They share the story of Bette’s chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and how since her diagnosis in 1987 she has needed to add several medications to her daily regimen in order to lead a quality life, including doing what she loves: singing.
Bette shares her gratitude for Tricare and Medicare, saying, “Thank god for Tricare and Medicare because it would have been impossible for either one of us to have survived what we have been through if we had not had that medical assistance.”
Like Richard and Bette, many Coloradans over age 65 are eligible to participate in valuable programs such as Medicare that pays for the acute and primary care of most senior citizens.**
