The Denver Post today wrote a blog post about how telemedicine is helping share the expertise of neonatal specialists in the city into critical-care situations at 33 remote hospitals in Colorado, Kansas and Wyoming.
“Practicing rural medicine has a lot of nuances to it that you don’t really realize until you do it,” said Dr. Jeff Brown, a pediatric hospitalist at Vail Valley Medical Center. “There’s a lot of things that can happen at 8,300 feet in terms of newborns … that don’t happen in Denver.”
